Saskatchewan celebrates international and Canadian cuisine

Canadian culinary connoisseurs can feast on an international spread of eats at Taste of Saskatchewan through July 15. Held on the grounds of Kiwanis Park in Saskatoon, the Taste of Saskatchewan is celebrating its 16th anniversary by featuring menus from more than 30 Saskatchewan restaurants accompanied by live musical performances from more than 55 local bands.

Savory dishes from all over the globe are available, such as deep-fried wontons, enchiladas, gyros, pizza, perogies, pad Thai, gazpacho, dumplings, and schnitzel. Seafood samplings of popcorn shrimp, fish and chips, sushi, and salmon burgers are also being served.

Carrot cake, ice cream, cheesecake, fresh fruit frozen yogurt, raspberry tarts, peanut butter pies, and deep-fried Mars bars are some of the sugary desserts being offered for those craving something sweet.

Musical acts range in genre from country, rock, Celtic, blues, reggae, salsa, jazz, and pop. Food tokens are approximately $2.50 each and liquor tokens are approximately $5.50 each.
