The Daily Meal's editors, contributors, and readers dig into some pretty great restaurants, festivals, and meals. There's not always enough time to give a full review of a restaurant or describe in depth why a place, its food, and the people who prepare it are noteworthy, so Snackshot of the Day does what photographs do best, rely on the image to do most of the talking.
Today's Snackshot is of a Sriracha burger. Now that Labor Day weekend is over, what is commonly known as grilling season is also technically over. But we still have three more weekends of summer, people! So don't hurry to put those grills away just yet. And why would you even think about doing that when there's a recipe like this?

Asian Burgers with Sriracha Mayo
Working at home with three boys is a slow-fast dance. A day can feel long, but an entire week easily blows right by. If you’ve experienced the old adage: the days are long, but the years are short, then you know the struggle is real.
One way to embrace the simple things is making the most of grilling season. Because we live in an area that grants the shortest of summers, we spend as much time outdoors as we can when we can, which absolutely includes backyard grilling.
These Asian Style Burgers are a flavor bomb and a huge hit with family and friends. It’s no wonder these burgers are so well loved: they’re juicy, tender, and loaded with stunning flavors. The Sriracha mayo provides a deliciously creamy, kicked-up alternative to the usual condiments. In fact, ketchup and mustard may never get the same attention they’re used to getting, once you’ve tasted this.
Mix sugar and eggs then add salt, cornstarch and milk. Bring to simmer over medium to high heat stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and add vanilla. After pudding is completely cooled add 1.5 cups crushed Nilla wafers and 7 bananas sliced and portion.
In 8 oz. clear portion cup (special cup) add 2 Nilla wafers and 1 white scoop of pudding (6oz.) . Top with whipped topping and place 2 Nilla wafers on the topping then sprinkle crushed Nilla wafers on top.

Snackshot of the Day: Sriracha Burger - Recipes
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 800g of beef mince (40% chuck, 40% rib, 20% fat)
- 200g mayonnaise
- 60g sriracha
- 1 baby gem lettuce
- 4 gherkins
- 8 slices Monterey jack cheese
- 8 Maris Piper potatoes (for the chips)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- In a mixing bowl, mix together the chuck, rib and fat mince then season with salt and pepper and portion into eight 100g patties.
- Grill the burger patties for 2 minutes on each side. Then add a slice of cheese to the top of each patty so that it starts to melt.
- Separate the baby gem lettuce leaves and wash them - you'll need two for each burger.
- Slice the gherkins around 5mm thick.
For the Sriracha Mayonnaise
- Take the mayonnaise and sriracha and add to a clean mixing bowl. Mix together until they are completely blended.
For the Triple Cooked Chips
- Cut the potatoes into wedges, leaving the skin on, and boil them for 10 minutes. Then let them cool.
- Bake the wedges at 140 degrees for 3 minutes and cool them down again.
- Add the wedges to a fryer at 170-180 degrees and cook them until they go crispy and golden, season with the salt.
- Spread sriracha mayonnaise on both sides of the burger bun, the add 1-2 baby gem leaves depending on their size.
- Place on a grilled burger patty, a couple of slices of gherkins and then the second patty.
- Add another baby gem lettuce leaf, and finish with the top half of the burger bun.
- Serve with the triple cooked chips and more sriracha mayonnaise to dip.

- 1 (15-ounce) can unsalted black beans, rinsed and drained
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons lower-sodium soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- ¼ cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- Cooking spray
- 4 (1 1/2-ounce) hamburger buns
- ¼ cup canola mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha (hot chile sauce)
- 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
- 2 cups baby arugula
Place beans in a large bowl lightly mash. Stir in onion and next 7 ingredients. Divide mixture into 4 portions shape each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.
Arrange patties on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 425° for 8 minutes turn after 6 minutes. Add bun halves to pan bake 3 minutes.
Combine mayonnaise, Sriracha, and juice spread over bottom halves of buns. Top each serving with 1 patty, 1/2 cup arugula, and top halves of buns.

Some days only a juicy burger will satisfy. For those days, we turn to these meaty standbys from our archives.
Tri-Pepper Burgers, above. With lots of peppers packed inside, for an ultra-juicy and flavorful bite.
Emilia Burgers. The patty itself is laced with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese a punchy salsa verde and a layer of balsamic mayonnaise, though, make this is a luxe burger indeed.
Turkey Burgers With Feta and Dill. Avoid an all-too-typical dry bird burger with the addition of dill, feta and red onion.
Rosenfeld’s Best Burgers. They’re simple, but the attention to detail (and cooking them on a grill) makes them mighty tasty.
Sriracha Pork Burgers. With just enough hot sauce to perk things up and doctor some mayo. (But feel free to add more if you like things extra spicy).
Basic Beef PornBurgers. Featuring a blend of sirloin steak, short ribs and chuck roast. Top it with a potato pancake, sausage and mushroom gravy and a fried egg, as pictured, if you want to get really crazy.
- 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
- ½ onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup shredded Colby Jack or Cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
- salt and pepper to taste
Preheat a grill for high heat.
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, cheese, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, egg, onion soup mix, garlic, garlic powder, parsley, basil, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
Grill patties for 5 minutes per side on the hot grill, or until well done. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.
